Wei Xin...
This year's first Rainbow Day fell on 24 February. We had some guests from the Singapore School for the Deaf. The pupils from the school performed two items using hand signs. My favourite item was 'Nobody' by 3B girls. It was totally awesome. Our class performance 'That Thing You Do' turned out very nice! I wish that we can perform on every Rainbow Day.
Kate...
The first item was performed by pupils from the Singapore School for the Deaf. They performed well despite their disability. Their performance was my favourite item. This Rainbow Day is special and meaningful. I'm glad the deaf pupils had a chance to perform and I hope it made them happy.
Shawn Pang...
I love 5B's and 6A's performances but my favourite is still our item 'Jumpstyle'. I practised it every day. We must persevere to learn the steps.
Kelly...
I find that this Rainbow Day is the best as the two performances our class did were splendid. No one was absent or was unwilling to go up the stage to perform.
Zhi Yi...
I like 'Jumpstyle' the best. Our performance was great. I practised really hard for it. I hope I can go on stage again next Rainbow Day.

RD Rehearsal
I think the boys have improved. The girls are fine, as always:) Watch the video and see if you can be even better.
As for the Jumpstyle, I think you really have to standardise the routines.

That thing you do - Cai Qi & Kate
Please learn the steps for the dance using this video. The part before the 'macerana' moves and the last part need to be refined. If you have any ideas, let me know next Wednesday. Thanks, Cai Qi and Kate, for demonstrating the dance:P

Words to replace 'said'
Today, within your groups, you thought of many words to replace 'said'. Well done! Here are some pictures of you at work and your word-maps.

Cyber-wellness Video
Here's the cyber-wellness video that Wei Xin starred in. Don't you think she deserves an 'Outstanding Actress' award?
Many of you have Facebook accounts. Be mindful of the friends you 'add'.

Our First Month in 5A
Written by Nerin
I am proud to be in 5A. I am happy to be in the same class as my buddies, Shawn Pang, Desmond and Catherine. I like my classroom - simple yet nice and a peaceful place to study in. The boy I am sitting with is Han Chu. I was nervous at first but we soon get along. I help him and he helps me out.

My new classmates are friendly. One of them whom I hang out with is Wei Xin. She is a humorous girl. She loves sports. Every recess, despite having prefect duties, we spend time with each other, chatting outside the library.
Mrs Tay taught us a lot of moral values and self-discipline. We always have fun during her class and we work together as a class. We want to be a model to the lower primary classes.
During this month, I've settled down quickly. Although there is a lot of stress and pressure, I will do my best.

My new classroom looks great! It looks like a jungle. I love my classmates too! We always joke and laugh. To me, school is like a family. Nowadays, school work is getting tougher but I am still coping because I have good teachers and two best friends who stand by me whenever I need them. They are Leona and Kelly. I enjoy my lessons a lot.

I was nervous on the first day of school. I chose to sit with my friend, Nigel, but my teacher changed my seat. Now, I'm sitting with Leona. At first, I did not talk to her, but during group work, we started talking. I like my classmates because they help me when I don't know how to do my work.
I enjoy my lessons very much. Mostly, I can remember what my teachers teach me. However, I hate Spelling. It is very, very difficult and I have to sit for a re-test often. I wish Mrs Tay will make it easier.

My first month in 5A passed very quickly. The lessons are interesting and I am coping well with my studies. I made new friends like Johnson and Nigel. During recess, I play soccer in the school field when I do not have prefect duties. I like 5A as we are funny and cheerful, though some of us do surprising things!

RD
So what would it be?
Love in Any Language (Choir)
Je t'aime
Te amo
Ya ti-bya lyu blyu
Ani o hevet oth kha
I love you
The sounds are all as different
As the lands from which they came
And though our words are all unique
Our hearts are still the same
Love in any language
Straight from the heart
Pulls us all together
Never apart
And once we learn to speak it
All the world will hear
Love in any language
Fluently spoken here
We teach the young our differences
Yet look how we're the same
We love to laugh, to dream our dreams
We know the sting of pain
From Leningrad to Lexington
The farmer loves his land
And daddies all get misty-eyed
To give their daughter's hand
Oh maybe when we realize
Just how much there is to share
We'll find too much in common
To pretend it isn't there
Love in any language
Straight from the heart
Pulls us all together
Never apart
And once we learn to speak it
All the world will hear
Love in any language
Fluently spoken here
Though the rhetoric of government
May keep us worlds apart
There's no misinterpreting
The language of the heart
Love in any language
Straight from the heart
Pulls us all together
Never apart
And once we learn to speak it
All the world will hear
Love in any language
Fluently spoken here
Love in any language
Fluently spoken here(x5)
